臺大校史館位於舊總圖書館二樓閱覽室，常設展廳於2005年6月22日揭幕，特展區川流廳則於2007年11月15日校慶日啟用，校史館由圖書館負責營運。舊總圖起造於1929年的臺北帝國大學時期，經歷五階段之興建與擴充；1998年圖書館搬遷新址，本建築被臺北市政府指定為古蹟。校史常設展主題包含：臺大精神與象徵、臺北帝大與臺大之大事紀、各學院榮耀與成就、校園生活與臺大人物、校區分布與校園變遷、博物館視窗等等。種種校史文物，不僅呈現過去的榮耀成就以及奇聞逸事，也展現臺大的現在與未來。

 

The Gallery of National Taiwan University History is located on the 2nd floor of the old Main Library. The Gallery was opened to the public in June 2005 with a permanent display of university history. On November 15, 2007, the university anniversary, "Chuan Lyu Exhibition Hall" for special exhibits was opened. The Gallery has been operated by the University Library. Work stared on the building of the Gallery in 1929 during the Taihoku Imperial University period. After five phases of construction and expansion, now the building has been designated a listed building by Taipei City Government in 1998 after the main library moved to a new site. The display topics of the Gallery include: university spirit and symbols, the chronology of the university and its predecessors, the academic achievements of each college, campus life and the NTU people, evolution of university campus, and the university museums, etc.
