億載金城（Eternal Golden Castle）簡介：
稱「二鯤鯓砲台」，一般人仍習稱「億載金城」。清同治13年（1874），清政府派遣沈葆楨為欽差大臣，渡海來台籌辦海防。
沈氏勘定安平形勢險要，乃奏請在此建造西式砲台一座，延請法人設計。砲台在清光緒2年（1876）完工。
沈葆楨親提『億載金城』、『萬流砥柱』八字，分置內外門額，氣勢雄渾，護土不讓。
目前放置在砲台內供人參觀的大砲，是民國64年（1975）台南市政府推動觀光年，為紀念胞台創建一百週年特別仿製的成品，為台灣第一座西式砲台。
Also known as the "Erkunshen Artillery Fort", this historical site is commonly called the Eternal Golden Castle.
In 1874, the government of Ching Dynasty designated Shen Bao-Jhen as an envoy to Taiwan for the purpose of navy defense planning.
Shen realized the strategic importance of Anping and requested that the Ching government build a western style fortress.
Honoring his request, the Ching government recruited a French company to design and build the fortress. When construction of the fortress was completed in 1876, Shen inscribed the words "Eternal Golden Castle" and "Ultimate Stronghold" around the main entrance.
The magnificent fortress served as a major defense against invaders for many years after.
As part of the Tainan City Government's tourism initiatives, a replica of the original artillery has been on display there since 1975 to honor the 100th anniversary of Taiwan's first western style fortress.
