Horyuji Temple （法隆寺） is located in Ikaruga town of Nara Prefecture. This place can be easily reached by a bus from the JR Nara Station.

Horyuji Temple was established in the early eight century by Prince Shotoku Taishi, who was one of the first Japanese Royal family member to officially embrace Buddhism. Under Prince Shotoku Buddhism flourished in Japan and he also built many Buddhist monuments and Temples.

If you visit Nara and plan to spend more than a day, make sure you visit this magnificent Temple.
