小琉球 Hsiao Liouciou Island, Taiwan

琉球嶼俗稱小琉球，為臺灣屏東縣西南外海上的一個島嶼，是臺灣附近十四屬島中唯一的珊瑚礁島嶼，全島面積6.802平方公里，環島一圈約三十分鐘。
全島行政區劃為屏東縣琉球鄉，目前分有八個村。島上設有四所小學及一所國中，故學生若繼續升學必須往臺灣本島求學，人口逐漸外移並老化。與屏東東港鎮有船舶來往，目前於東港碼頭分有公營及民營兩家航線提供物資及人員運輸，自2008年起增加高雄往返小琉球航班蝴蝶公主號，每周六、日有固定航班往返。
小琉球目前屬於臺灣大鵬灣國家風景區的一部分，著名景點與風景區有「美人洞」、「山豬溝」、「烏鬼洞」，以上三個為收費風景區，由琉球鄉公所收費管理。
其餘具特色的景點有：「肚子坪潮間帶」，若由達人帶領可見到許多美麗的生態生物；「蛤版灣沙灘」，一道如銀河般的沙灘；「杉福生態廊道」，為舊有軍區目前有步道可自由進入；「中澳沙灘」，是島上最佳戲水的沙灘；「花瓶石」，小琉球地標，其鄰近海域為保護區亦為浮潛的最佳潛點，並可不時見到海龜與海龜共遊。
Lamay Island or Golden Lion Island[1] (Chinese: 小琉球; pinyin: Xiǎo Liúqiú; Wade-Giles: Hsiao Liu-ch'iu) is an island which belongs to the Republic of China (Taiwan). It has an area of 6.8 km² and a population of over 14,500 residents in 8 villages. It lies 15 km (8 nautical miles) west of Tungkang and it is Taiwan's only coral island.
There are no rivers on the island, and farming is very difficult. Most residents make their living by fishing, and in recent years the island has become noted for cage aquaculture. Efforts for planned development received a boost after the island was included in the Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area in 2004. Some of the best known local sights include Black Ghost Cave, Beautiful Maiden Cave, Houshih Rock Formations, and Venice Beach.
The island is administered as Liouciou Township (Chinese: 琉球鄉; Tongyong Pinyin: Lióucióu Siang; Hanyu Pinyin: Liúqiú Xiāng), Pingtung County.
