Paul Chiang makes me feel that all conductors are romanticists. He might not agree with me. Actually, I think all musicians for all that matter. During the interview, he thinks through carefully before he shares what he has to say about classical music, quartets and the composers that he admire.

Paul Chiang says there are two different ways to work your way up to becoming a successful conductor. He chose to form his own symphony orchestra instead of working up the ladder to lead an existing orchestra.
